Frequently Asked Questions
  • How old does the player have to be?: The program is for players between 5 - 13 years of age.
  • Where are games played?: We play all games at Welty field (Barton road, Yonkers).
  • Who will be coaching my player?: All coaches are volunteer parents or relatives who have knowledge of the game. We emphasize learning soccer through practice and participating in weekly games
  • When./where do practices take place?: Practices are typically at Welty field or nearby sports fields. Practice days and times are schedule based on the volunteer coaches availability, typically weekdays after 6PM or Saturdays.
  • Who can volunteer to coach a team?: Anyone 17 or older can volunteer to coach, We ask HS coaches to be accompanied by a parent. Basic knowledge of the sport is recommended. A group can coach the team, however one will be leader.
  • What is the time commitment to coach?: Each coach is required to have one practice a week (other than game day), typically an hour at their own schedule and should attend each game or get a parent to fill in.
  • Where can I find a game schedule?: The game schedule will be provided after the teams are formed by the coaches. They will be posted online before the season starts.
  • What is a team sponsor?: A team sponsor donates funds to the club to help offset costs. Each team wears their sponsor name on their uniforms. Each sponsor donates $150 and receives plaque.
